The Barbershop, mom, and a marriage and more wetness

Instead of my running nose [yes, it seems that everyone has been affected by the rainy season, welcome cold n flu!] I am doing fine. I got a haircut two days ago at this super small barbershop with only one man who runs the business. Two simple hand-made wooden chairs painted in dark brown facing the long slim mirror. The walls are plastered with posters of famous artists in their old-hair days, maybe he had put them on the wall since the Opening Day many years ago. I looked back at the chair, smiled at it and then turned to him while i seated, fixed my smile to his friendly clean-shaven face.

"Short Cut or Short Cut Neat?"

I got confused. He took both of his hands off of my head then took a slow walk to the wall on his right, pointed to Justin Timberlake's military cut head, "This is Short cut," then he lowered his index finger, "This is Short Cut, Neat."

I'm not gonna survive from any long hard stare from anyone if I put on Justin's, I thought. He didnt offer to shave my facial hair nor a short massage on my neck and shoulders, Another difference from what we have in North Sumatra. Bali, indeed, is a whole new experience. It has so many stranded street dogs, that's best known, yet I had never thought the dogs,  any dogs, are so ignorant and would stay in the middle of the road when you are about to  drive. You're lucky if they will look at you and move their asses promptly, most of the time, you have to put up and hit the brake for a while and look out for the paddies terrace, it's worth it.When I went to the small local eateries and ordered fried noodle, it turned out to be instant noodle. They serve meat balls with steamed rice. And almost all of their food is a bit salty which is fine with me after I swim my tongue into the glass of water, flush the stained salt on my mouth.

Nothing much happened here. Talked to mom and my elder sister, everyone's fine at home.  Mom is feeling a bit sad. She took the courage to tell me what bothers her mind,'I keep on praying that your sisters would find their love soon,' she said last Sunday.

'Hold on to that hope, mom,' I told her.  She does, for sure.

We get more fierce rain here in Ubud Bali. More fogies morning and evening, wich means I am going to gain more weight from my frequent snack time. Yay for that!

Now, I need to run my fingers on any food. Seriously.
