Did I tell you when I was in my hometown last month I met a perfectly forgotten female friend of mine on the road? Ah, I guess I skipped that part from my email and jumped into the details about the bus and the next seat passenger with a lil kid taking most part of the two-seats area.
Yeah, I was walking down the street, wearing the same clothes from the day before. I would only stay for one nite, well, according to my plan.
She, this civil servant woman, looked at me, or maybe, at my way in the small deserted road, Hey! she hollered again. I kept on walking, threw a quick glance at her now and then, Is she calling me?
It wasnt really bother me, or something, because the weather itself has been an issue: Drought season on the coastal area. We can't ask for more problems.
"Jerry!"
THat was officially a remark for me. I turned left and saw this less than 160 cm girl, in her brown uniform, less flattering skirt, and a genuine exciting smile attached on her small round face. "My, she needs to put on some make-up," I joked to myself, smiled at her as I walked slowly as if I was hesitated to approach her. My god, I dont know who the hell you are! But i kept that confused smile on my sweating face, "Hi there!" I said.
"Who, look at you," she kept on smiling, exposing most of her teeth, "so, how you been, Jerry?!"
A quick firm handshake.
She threw some questions at me while I was kind of lost in my thought, rummaging my yearbook trying to find out where the hell did she know me.
Then she said something about high school which I didnt really listened.
"No, we didnt go to the same high school," I corrected her, "I graduated from Vocational high school," I smiled. Yes, I silently thanked her hint, that answered the question even though I was still taking guesses.
"Ah! Yes. Then we were friends from secondary school, then!" she said excitedly. Probably she was a bit lost herself.
"True, I think," I replied. We let out silly nervous laughters.
I looked around, the lunch time would come in a few minutes. She has no bachelor degree, but she's more than lucky to be able get this 'safe heaven' job at the government office.
I said I need to get going, she said sure, I said thanks, she said nice to see ya again, I said sure, it is, she said yeah, I said uhm, she said nothing, i walked out the small waist-high fence.
Wait, she said, she asked for my mobile number. Call my number so i will save it, she said.
DOne.
YOu remember my name, dont you? SHe shot me
Damn it! "Hehehe no, sorry" I said, lame Jerry!
She uttered her name in a careful way so I wont miss a word of it, or misspell it.
I saved her number but I knew we'd never ever send sms or call each other, for sure.
It was just a perfect final touch.
Sometimes it happens, bump into old acquittance.
Two days ago, on a bus home from Ellie's place, I was sitting on the corner of the passengers seat, facing the door. I didnt looked around, didnt bother to see who were sitting, who were talking so loud, filled the bus full of tired people. And I was busy munching this sweet corn, I knew people were looking at me, what a little noise I made. I didnt care, I ate them like they were the best food, ever, which wasnt true. In fact, they were a bit too salty.
Then when the passenger who sat next to me got off, I moved a bit, saw this familiar face, a dude whose dad is the economic lecturer at the univ.
Oh hi you there, I said, he smiled, asked me where I'm working and all, annoying questions which I bet he didnt really wanna know the answers. I didnt answer anything, I just smiled and said, "I did this and did that, you know," and ended it with a smile, looked out the window, and got my own space.LOL
We get rain again, more frequently. The drought season has ended, maybe, or, it's stopped for a while. We had rain last nite, and the nite before. I guess i was soaked wet, my socks damp two days ago when I went to this market and bought myself three DVD movies.
And today. NOthing happened except there were this church activities, that's including the Noisy Sunday School, a car's alarm that hurt my ears for a few minutes, and more children shrieks.
I returned to bed after I fed KIko. Woken up by Green who showed only his head next to the door, said HI, and pinched me on the face.
ANd yes, they're leaving for Lake TOba four days from now. I've got two good readings and the DVDs to company me :)
Ah, my birthday in less than a week from now. I'm gonna give myself a fat big cake, ask Kiko sit in front of me, and we will sing, When I Grow Up by Pussycatdolls. Hehehehe
